Heart Coaster Exchange
I just finished off my heart coasters for Gingersnap Creations Heart Coaster Exchange, We have to make 4 unique coasters using hearts as a theme. My creations are here;

this one is all about different techniques put together, the background (if you can see it) is done with clear embossing powder, i love the water drop effect all over the coaster (reminds me sitting down near a window in a rainy day) the hearts are crackled and then glossed. the flower is sprayed with pink glimmer mist.

this is my favorite, 'cause of gesso, the background is done with alcohol inks, the frame was made of drying gesso unevenly, then adding glimmer sprays. inside is a sticker from Lord T!M's salvaged sticker - valentine collection.

another gesso, this time its the background, sides are covered with small pom poms, one heart is made with gold flakes and then glossed.

this one is simplicity at best, well not exactly, the frame was hand made like many of my stuff, this one was done with Sculpey - oven bake clay, the inside is a alcohol ink background stamped with sentiment. the 2 hearts are interesting piece i found in a store, don't know how to describe it, but it looks like tiny squares of foil... may be you have seen it and can describe it better....
I hope you enjoy this, i'll be sending this over now...

Inspiration all around

this card was inspired by 3 of the blogs i'm following;
With the tea bag template challenge from Gingersnap Creation i got the idea for the pop up heart. With Studio L3's CC Challenge - Rusted metal provided the background. The Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Embossing gave an idea for a double embossed heart.
The double embossing is done with many layers;
taking a heart shape, emboss it with distress ink in red (i used bard door) and emboss it with matching color then hear it. if you don't get a smooth finish the first time then i suggest you repeat the first step. before you heat emboss (during the 2nd when necessary) stamp the sentiment (mine was "I Love you") this way the stamp removes the embossing powder and when you heat emboss it leaves the part of your sentiment un-embossed. Now comes the tricky part - this step is easy if you have a clear stamp. you need to re ink the sentiment and ink the exact area you left un-embossed. put embossing powder and heat.
(Now, you might ask why i un-embossed a part - this is because those thin lines of the stap won't get nicely stamped and embossed)
Enjoy!!!!

For the love of the season!!!

"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you simply, without problems or pride: I love you in this way because I do not know any other way of loving but this, in which there is no I or you..."

For the love of the season!!!

When you dance down the street with a cloud at your feet
You're in love
When you walk down in a dream but you know you're not
Dreaming signore
Scuzza me, but you see, back in old Napoli
That's amore
--Dean Martin - That's Amore

For the love of the season!!!

Never seek to tell thy love,
Love that never told can be;
For the gentle wind does move
Silently, invisibly.

Show some love with altered metal

this is my creation for both challenges... in celebration of love a cupid and small metal frame done in accordance to loard tim's decree... The colors were inspired by Gingersnap Creation color challenge.

Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind;
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.

For the love of the season !!!

May no gift be too small to give,
nor too simple to receive,
which is wrapped in thoughtfulness
and tied with love.
nor too simple to receive,
which is wrapped in thoughtfulness
and tied with love.

Unbelievable i missed a whole week of challenges... browsing...

Another Masking Adventure

this is for the new Compendium of Curiosities Challenge # 27 @ Studio L3. alright, i know i'm going on the same trend ... but i can't help this... the tim holtx masks are too cool.. specially the web. it adds really great effects specially when i do love/ romance cards!!! sort of like a web of love!!!!
the heart is hand stitched first and pearls and other beads are added later. metal ribbon is outlined with gold metallic outliner and then used my lovely stamp for sentiment.
Cool effect huh!!!

Masking with Distress Inks

It seems Masking is taking up the week... here is me joining in the creative spirit.
Both Studio L3 & Simon Says Stamp & Show is holding masking challenges and this one is for Simon says stamp and show.
For the background its masking with tim holtz spider web with vintage photo and walnut stain distress inks and then stamped with a letter stamp. the heart is inked with fired brick and misted with red pearls to give a little glimmer and gold/ bronze flakes are added for extra effect.
