Any Thing Goes

So its another week, another challenge… simon says stamp and show anything you like!!! i thought of trying one of my favourite embellishments which haven't tried for a while… which is the metal flakes… i have adhered gold, copper and silver metal flakes as a boarder to the card… this is a very intricate technique as you have to adhere each flake to the card one by one…

anyways, it turned out pretty ok… i attached a pearl and stone ribbon with a wedding wish…

Challenge: Quotable

Hey all, It been a great week and i want to show off something very special… this creation perfectly coincided with this weeks challenge from Simon Says Stamp and Show: Quotable and i'm extremely happy with the out come…

the story: a friend fell in love with this guy, they dated for a year… but both of their families really didn't like them dating… and when the guy proposed, there was huge argument among the family… so… this got dragged on for a while, until these love birds quit and decided to give up on their love… to stay away from each other… couple of months later in to the struggle, they couldn't do it… they decided to talk to their families again… slowly turn them around… after more than 2 years of convincing, the families agreed to their marriage…

so with the blessings of their families these two love birds got married….

this is why i thought to add this little quote… "love conquered for a blissful wedded life" appropriate, don't you think…

the creation: i wanted to do something special for these two, as they are special people… so instead of just putting a heart on to the card.. i did a little embossed heart with UTE clear powder and some gold dusting right when it was hot… on top i stamped with a scrip writing…

here is a close up!!

hope you enjoy this...

Challenge: Water

This week it's all about water at the Simon Says Stamp and Show Challenge... So for obvious fact I thought only of getting that water drop effect on a background... I remembered a technique I did while back with similar results and created this…( i know its not the best photo, the lighting was bad… i have learned my lesson, will take a better one in the future)

For this creation I first inked the background with T!M's distress ink Dusty Concord and then added clear embossing powder, heat set and redid whatever area that didn't get covered... Isn't the look simply like water drops... I can't believe I forgot all about this till this week!!!

Enjoy All!!!

Tattered Floral Challenge

It's the Tattered Floral Challenge from T!M, and right on top i had a creative block!!! can you Believe it!!! ahhhh, it sucks… i think i got overly exited on this challenge or something, still trying to figure out what happened… but since i have recovered just in time before the end of the challenge… i had time to do my own thing with the tattered floral die…

Spinning in to creativity…. here is my creation!!!

i wanted to add a little bit of texture, so cut out some slightly embossed card stock, some gauze fabric all cut in with tattered floral die… rolled to make it look like a flower and then i added stones and pearls to the centre… to finish the card, i dyed a lace with wild honey and peeled paint distress stains.. finally, "Mum" was spelled out with glitter monograms…

Enjoy!!!

Chic to be Shabby

its another day for a simon says stamp and show challenge, this time it's all about Shabby Chic!!!

in order to bring the elements of Shabby Chic, i wanted the card to have laces and pearls…. so for the centre, i sewn on a heart from red felt and stuffed in with cotton to make it stand out, it was then covered with copper wire and pearls…

the background was created with victorian velvet and vintage photo and little bit of peeled paint from script stamp and also a swirls stamp

in order for the heart to stand out from the background i stitched a lace in to a circle and adhered it in between the heart and card….

i think that the pearls, lace and the colours make it very shabby chic!!!

Enjoy!!

Metal-ology

for this week's challenge from Simon Says Stamp and Show Some Metal-ology, i decided to do something a little different… i wanted to decorate a cage that i bought off a craft shop.
the cage was blank and white and i dabbed it with a variety of alcohol inks to give it a very vintage look…
each side was  then decorated with different embellishments…

the base for this cage was created with ginger, rust, black, caramel, hazelnut, cranberry and terra cotta alcohol inks...
front was decorated with some big flowers and roses, the big flower has a metal sprocket gear attached at the centre. tim's philosophy tag "inspire" was attached after adding some acrylic paint dabber

the top was decorated with tim's metal tinsel twine and flowers with rinestones

for one of the sides I added some more sprockets and the small tim's fractured doll after colouring it with alcohol inks and added butterfly wings from grunge board, which was coloured with seedless preserve and some distress stickles….

the back was covered with several more flowers with rhinestones and roses, the top side i added a gold crown charm

the final side has a tag that says birthday wishes which i'm planning to fill later… the small corked vile was filled with some pearls and gold beads and a note of love on having the best birthday…

Enjoy!!!

What Am I Known For?

the challenge for the week from Simon Says Stamp and Show is, i think my favourite as of yet!!! the challenge as you must already know is What are you know for? and it was easy as i'm best known for my play with a variety of COLOURS!!! Especially, BRIGHT colours!!!

i love so many colours so much that if someone ask me what is your favourite colour, i don't think i'll be able to answer… colours make the world we live in a better place… because of colours we can see the most amazing things in the world or in the universe…

here's a creation that shows off  what i'm thinking….

Hope you enjoy!!!!

Lace Love

Its time for another challenge from Simon Says Stamp and Show… and this time its one of my favourite combos, Lace and Doilies. For the Lace Love challenge, I have accented everyones favourite bodice with lace and flowers and a key… to make the card very feminine a doily was spray painted and attached like a fan and underneath it all, black feathers… i believe that nothing say sexy and misterious like lace and feathers!!!!

have you seen the photos of women from the 20's, how they have dressed up, they look so mysteriously sexy… don't they… this is what inspired me with this card...

Enjoy!!!!

Embrace the Old!

It's another year, and this year i think my resolution should be to Blog more regularly instead of every couple of months….

Lets pray that this year i'm able to stick to my resolution!!!

Anyways its time for this year's first blog contest from Simon Says Stamp and Show, this time they are bringing in an old concept… Challenge: Embrace the old!!!

now then, as usual, there are tooooo many choices for this one… but, i thought that i should do a vintage looking card instead of an old technique…. so i decided to do a very Sherlock Holmes kind of effect… the baroque cut out is a paper from T!m's crowded attic stash and then embossed with a wood grain texture… i hammered the brads and added alcohol inks on to it…

I really enjoyed creating this vintage piece… hope you enjoy it too….
